What age children are dramabuds classes suitable for?

Growing Buds Classes 2 – 4.5 years
Full Blooms classes 4 – 7 years
If you are unsure which session will suit your child please chat to us. The ages are only a guide line.

Do parents/carers stay present at the classes?

Yes for Growing Buds classes and we encourage parents/carers of the younger children to be actively involved in the workshop communicating and using Drama with their child in the land of the make believe

No for Full Blooms classes On enrolment to the full Blooms classes we ask parents/carers to complete a full registration form with further details about your child including medical conditions, emergency contact numbers and named persons with permission to collect your child from the class. Parents are not required to stay on site for the duration of the Full Blooms classes but we do have a separate waiting area at our venues stay in if you wish.

How much do the classes cost?

Our Growing Buds classes cost £7.10 per week and Full Blooms £8.00 per week. Class fees are paid in advance by the 12 or 13 week term. If you join Dramabuds during a term you can pay pro-rata for the weeks remaining on the term.

Do you offer a trial class?

Yes you can come to a trial class with Dramabuds. The Trial class costs just £5 (£7.50 Kidspace).

What are your term dates? When can I join?

We run 3 x 12 or 13 week terms per year, but you can join Dramabuds at anytime, during a term if places are available in your chosen class.

We have never been to a class like this before I’m not sure how my child will react?

Every child acts differently at their first dramabuds class, some children dive straight in and can’t wait to get involved, some children like to sit and watch (take it all in) for the majority of their first class, some children have lots of energy and like to run around the room! However your child reacts at their first class it’s .O.K. we just ask you to gently encourage them with the activities, they will soon get used to the structure of the classes and grow in confidence the more regularly they attend.

How can I make payment for the classes?

You can make payment by:

Bank transfer – Dramabuds Account number: 50732668 Sort Code: 602108
Please use your childs full name as reference.

Through the website using Paypal – You can also use your credit/debit card and pay through Pay Pal. click here.

Cheque – payable to Dramabuds with your chids name/class on back of cheque handed to your class teacher at the class.

Cash at class – correct cash in envelope marked with your childs name and class.

Do you run workshops/classes during the school Holidays?

Our main classes are term time only but we do run themed Dramabuds Adventures for school holiday periods (in certain locations) and these sessions can be booked and paid for individually by the session.

How do you recruit, train and check you staff suitability for working with young children?

All our staff have trained professionally in drama and the performing arts and have experience of working with children. We select our staff through an intensive application, interview and audition process. All our staff then undergo dramabuds training and must hold a full enhanced CRB disclosure and references from previous employers are checked before working with dramabuds.

Are you public liability insured?

Yes. Absolutely.

Are Drama Buds class leaders hold a DBS?

Yes all our staff hold a full enhanced DBS disclosure.

At what age do I need pay for younger siblings?

From age 2. We then offer a generous sibling discount.  Second child £4 Growing Buds and £5 Full Blooms, per class (for 2 siblings attending the same class).

I have a young baby and a 3 year old can I bring my baby to the class with my 3 year old ?

Yes you are welcome to bring baby to the class with you, we recommend that you bring a car seat or pushchair with you or if baby is awake you are welcome to sit baby on your lap to join in too, we do not charge for babies attending classes with older siblings.

I have 2 children can I bring them both to class?

Yes and we offer a sibling discount of £24 off the total terms fees when 2 siblings attending same class together.

How many teachers are at a class?

The Growing Buds classes are led by 1 teacher

The Full Blooms classes are led with 1 teacher plus an assistant if more than 8 children enrolled in the class.

How many children are there in a class?

Our maximum number of children per class is 16 (or 12 if a smaller room). For Growing Buds classes

This way we are able to give each child individual attention during every class.

Our Maximum number of children in Full Blooms and Budding Actors classes is 20. (with 2 leaders)

What do we wear to classes?

We have dramabuds T shirts at £7 in 2 designs you can choose from. So this T shirt teamed with comfy bottoms that are good for moving around in and soft shoes or bare feet.

How long are the classes?

Growing Buds – 45 mins

Full Blooms – 1 hour

What happens if the class I would like to attend is full?

We operate a waiting list system, we will take your details and contact you when a space become available on your chosen class.

What sort of results have dramabuds classes had with children?

Alongside listening and concentration, we find the children grow in confidence with regular attendance. The drama helps the children’s speech and communication skills, whilst the stories actively encourage the children to co-operating with one another and problem solve.

What happens if I miss a class?

You are welcome to make up a class at any of our other class locations before the end of the term you are enrolled on. We cannot refund missed classes or carry them forward onto a new term.
